"Hmm." Mikau watched the boy closely as he talked, then openly turned to Bentarr. "This guy's going to go somewhere, he has quite the mind." He turned back to Tuatara, and continued. He took a knee, getting to the Padawan's level.
"Keep it between us, but I was exiled from Glee Anselm. My homework, Glee Anselm, is a very beautiful planet. It's full of beaches and clear beautiful oceans, everything that I love. However, it is subject to hurricanes from time to time, and there are less attractive areas like swamps here and there."
He stood, brushing off his cloak. "Actually, I'd love to take you there after your little mission here, but I'm afraid I'm not allowed back. You must make it on your agenda to visit, someday. It's worth you time." Mikau coughed a bit, and turned to Bentarr, simply looking at him.

Race beamed with pride when Mikau mentioned Tuatara's potential, already immensely proud of his promising Padawan. "Indeed he does, he has a very unique perspective on things. Plus he's extremely talented with a lightsaber, he fights so...instinctively and fluidly! It's very impressive for one so young."
Master Bentarr led the way while the two boys chatted and got to know each other. He zoned out while they talked and focused on the difficult task ahead. He tried a technique Yoda had taught, feeling the pulse of the living Force and trying to sense his surroundings' past, present, and future all in one single picture. It calmed him, and he began to review his previous studies of Tusken culture. He was going to need it all if his plan was going to work.

"So," Mikau piped in, now directing his speech at the master, "We'll do what, exactly?" He opened his cloak a bit, so that it wasn't wound tightly over him.
"What peaceful resolve will we try to attempt to get the Tuskens to back off?" He was quizzical, and hadn't exactly thought through the plan himself. Nor had he tried formulating one.

Tuatara continued to talk to Mikau. "Well, at least you've seen your homeworld. I've never been to Lao-mon. I was given to the Jedi on Dantooine." He furrowed his browl. I wonder where that forest was that I saw in my dream, he thought. And what species was that little kid.
"Master, have you ever heard of a species that looks like a small bear?" Tuatara asked Race. "They live in a forest I think. And they speak a primitive dialect." I hope we stop to eat soon, I'm hungry. Gotta store mass so when I'm older I can transform into a Wampa!

Race was jarred from his reflection by a question from Tuatara. "Hm...what's that, a small bear? Sounds like your talking about a Kiffar if I had to guess. But there are still many worlds that have not been discovered and many species yet to be seen so therecould be lots of species like that. Why, did you have a dream about something like that?"

OoC: Sorry, just needed to get a post in before my absence over the next day or so.
IC: Abruptly, Mikau interrupted. "I've known a Kiffar at one point. Ferocious he was." His eyes glittered with intrigue as he turned to the padawan. "They're scary creatures, no doubt." He smiled a bit, and scratched his chin. "Although, I figure they're uncommon now... I haven't seen or heard from one in a long time..."

Master Bentarr turned his head back to Mikau and said, "We're going to try and appeal to the Tusken's protective nature of their family, hopefully we can figure out a way to convince them that it is in their family's best interest to leave the citizens of Mos Eisley alone. We will have to pay attention while we are there however, as a better alternative may present itself to us. Sometime the best course of action is one that is not completely obvious at first, we must be mindful of the situation."
OoC: we are going to be waiting on tut for a little while, but we can get in some Bentarr-Mikau conversation while we wait if you like.

Mikau studied the man as he spoke, and nodded as the plan was spoken and explained. "I see," he said, pulling his cloak more around him and glancing about. "that makes sense. And if it doesn't work, I suppose it would be un-Jedi like to just kill them all there?"
Mikau swallowed hard. "If so, I can handle that for you."

"That shouldn't be necessary. Sandpeople are misunderstood creatures, they are not as warlike as people think. More often then not they are trying to protect their young ones and their homeland, and their protectiveness is mistaken for hostility. I'm confident a peaceful solution can be reached." Bentarr studied the young Nautolan carefully, noting the way he carried himself. He seems so old for one so young, almost as if he's been forced to grow up sooner than he should have. I hope he shares what he is going through, I should very much like to help him deal with whatever it is, Bentarr mused to himself.

Mikau shut his eyes and slowly nodded. "I see... when I'm honest with myself, I would agree that I misunderstand them altogether. Heck, if it were me going on your mission, I probably would have..."
Mikau arched where his brow would be, had he hair, and bit his lip. "I probably would've wiped them all out without a second thought." He was broken and cracked by the slow leaking in of the force, and is was warping his mind and focusing him around what he'd said. "I... when I think about it, I would've just killed them off. Lives of people living their own culture and way, and I would've..."
He sighed, and fell to his knees, staring at the ground, and shook his head. "I would've just killed them had I been in your position. And I don't know why, it's just..." Mikau turned. "I can't..."

Bentarr felt intense waves of shame and self-loathing stretching from the boy as he fell to his knees. Master Race also fell to a knee and clasping a hand on the boy's shoulder and said, "Do not let your thoughts linger on it Mikau. The pulse of the Living Force beats fast, and oftentimes we are swept up in it and do not think to slow ourselves down to survey our surroundings. There are many good men who would've done the same thing your instincts told you to do, a younger version of myself included. Do not blame yourself for what you might have done, take this instead as an opportunity to learn and grow from the experience. The more you see of this galaxy, the wiser you will become and the more apt you will be to see things from a different perspective. Now come, we have a battle to prevent." And as he said this returned to his feet, and waiting for the other two, began to head again in the direction of the Tusken camp. The wind was starting to pick up a little, and sand was being strewn at the group with each burst of the breeze.

Mikau nodded, feeling like a small child, and stood, brushing himself off. He glanced to the padawan, then back. He sighed heavily. "Like I said, I'm no Jedi."
He flipped his cloak, making sure it wasn't stuck in a fold somewhere and began to speak again. "I ran away during training, and quit their ways. Now, I wonder if... if I could go back? What would they say to me? What would my... parents think?" He turned his head quizzically, then shook it.
"Nevermind. This, we can speak of later if you wish. I don't... now isn't the time. You're right, let's get back to the mission." He swallowed hard, and began to walk alongside them.

Tuatara was about to answer his Master, but then Mikau broke down. Whew, got out of that, he thought. But why so emotional all the sudden? Aren't we supposed to control our emotions?
"Master, I was wondering about lightsaber creation. I know it's still far off, but i was wondering of where you get certain crystals." I want an orange crystal, he thought. No, two orange crystals, and a double bladed lightsaber that can turn into two single blades, both duel-phase. I wonder what a four bladed would look like. What about a lightsaber dagger?

"Lightsaber crystals?" Bentarr asked. "Crystals can be found in many different places, but in my opinion the best place to get force crystals are in the Crystal Kinrath Caves on Dantooine. That's where I got the crystals for my saber. But we're a little ways off from that yet. And yes, there are several different kinds of sabers: daggers, dual-bladed, Guard Shoto style, and several others. We can go over the whole list when we return to the Temple if you wish. But for now we should return to the task at hand." On the horizon, through the light wisps of sand being strewn across the dunes appeared the tops of Tusken style tents. They were getting close to the Tusken camp. It would be only a few more minutes of walking before they would arrive in the camp. "We are almost there, remember to be watchful as we enter the camp," he reminded his Padawan and Mikau. The wind began to pick up a little bit more, and Race grabbed the folds of his hood and threw it over his head, hoping it would help shelter him from the sand whipping off the ground at him. When they had reached the outskirts of the camp, two Tusken Raiders, apparently on sentry saw the group and grabbing their gaffi sticks pointed them Bentarr and started shrieking and whooping. Bentarr held out his hands, and digging down deep into the recesses of his mind pulled out what little of their language he remembered and blew the dust off of it. He addressed the two in a very cautious tone saying in a very broken dialect, "We friend. No make war. Wish speak stories with Chieftain." The fact that this human knew even a little of their language seemed to take these two Tuskens off guard, and after looking at each other and discussing it amongst themselves, turned back to Race and holding out their hands said what he assumed was basically "Wait here!" Bentarr nodded and the two Tuskens turned and entered the camp. The Jedi Master felt his apprentice and the young Nautolan start to follow and he held out his hands to stop them, saying "Wait. They must talk it over with the Chieftain before allowing us into the camp." They waited for about a minute or two, the heat bearing down from the twin suns. Bentarr was just getting anxious that something was wrong when the two Tuskens reappeared and beckoned to the group, shouting, "You follow!" And follow they did.

"Hmph," Mikau was impressed that even a humanoid Jedi Master could speak tusken... Regardless of how illiterate it was. He smiled under his hood, concealing all but the smile, and followed the master and his apprentice.
Mikau stopped quizzically, moving his arms around in his robe, and looked up at the master as he explained the fact that they must wait for the Chieftan. "I see..." Mikau said quietly, turning to the apprentice. "This may not turn out as well as we hoped."
However, his thoughts were eased when they were led to see the Chieftan...

Tuatara listened to his master's reprimand and vowed to keep himself on topic. They met with some frisky Tusken guards, and his master spoke with him. He hadn't had much time to study the language, so he understood very little.
The Tuskens left and returned a few moments later. They were ushered through a maze of Bantha-wool tents. Tuatara felt the need to talk but held his tongue; he was here to learn, not jabber endlessly.
